I came to this as I'd like my writing to improve. My thought was that this article would cover something about how a software developer can get better at using the written language to communicate. Unfortunately, the typos or bad English and sentence structure of the piece completely turned me off.

This next part is a little odd and seems off. And been programming? I had started with programming around 1984, and been programming .
A not a lot? A career? Nah! I love writing, which apparently a not a lot of other people do.
I won't go any further as I'm sure you will argue that you are simply capturing what Erica is saying. And that the spoken word is imprecise.
I agree. However, I think it will turn off many readers who came to this article for "the art of writing" in your title - but what they see is not artful writing.
