You raised some interesting points from an expat perspective... I've only been there as a tourist and I did not dislike it, but I was surprised by the level of neglect of some of the infrastructure. I don't have to go to London for the Polish supermarket though, there's one called "Malinka" where I live in the Hague 😁
We have Malinka here as well :)
As for the infrastructure, there are things that would definitely benefit from an upgrade (like some of the older Tube lines), but overall I was pleasantly surprised by how clean and "nice" most of London is, compared to a city like Paris.
