Edit: For some dudes, Github sponsor is not available, because they live in a restricted country, like mine; PayPal is not available here. Yet, still contribute to open source, regardless of whether or not they get sponsored. They have higher goals. They are driven by a higher entity.
You can refer to this thread for more info about Paypal being banned in Lebanon. I believe that not only my country is being affected by this, but let's see who can relate to this.
