I remember when I used to use Image maps! They're hard to figure out, but the results are fun, no doubt!
These days, I don't use them anymore, but I'm definitely considering some of the awesome alternatives that exist through newer and more robust technologies. For instance, you can add hyperlinks to SVGs, which opens up some pretty nifty opportunities for dynamic designs and interactions.
