I re-read the official fee pages of 13 crypto venues and put the base-tier numbers (VIP 0 / regular user) into one open CSV. The point of the exercise: fee pages differ in tier, scope and date, so most "which exchange is cheapest" lists compare numbers that were never comparable.

Base-tier fees, % of notional (reviewed 2026-10-10; HTX 2026-10-14)
| Venue | Spot maker | Spot taker | Perp maker | Perp taker |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Deribit | 0.02 | 0.05 | 0.015 | 0.035 |
| Hyperliquid | 0.04 | 0.07 | 0.015 | 0.045 |
| OKX | 0.08 | 0.10 | 0.02 | 0.05 |
| Binance | 0.10 | 0.10 | 0.02 | 0.05 |
| Gate | 0.10 | 0.10 | 0.02 | 0.05 |
| Bybit | 0.10 | 0.10 | 0.02 | 0.055 |
| Bitget | 0.10 | 0.10 | 0.02 | 0.06 |
| HTX | 0.20 | 0.20 | 0.02 | 0.06 |
| Kraken | 0.40 | 0.80 | 0.02 | 0.05 |
| dYdX | not offered | not offered | 0.01 | 0.05 |
KuCoin has a checked perp row (0.02 / 0.06) but no verified spot row; MEXC and Coinbase are marked not-checked in the CSV on purpose, because their official pages gave conflicting or tier-dependent numbers. A blank is better than a guess.
What it costs in practice
A $10,000 market buy followed by a market sell on spot (taker both ways):
- Deribit: $10
- Hyperliquid: $14
- OKX, Binance, Gate, Bybit, Bitget: $20
- HTX: $40
- Kraken: $160
On perpetuals the spread is much smaller. A $10,000 position opened and closed at taker rates costs $7 on Deribit, $9 on Hyperliquid, $10 on Binance, OKX, Gate, Kraken and dYdX, and $11–12 on Bybit, Bitget, HTX and KuCoin. Maker orders roughly halve that, and VIP tiers, token-fee discounts and referral rebates change the picture again, which is exactly why the CSV records the tier and the scope of every row.
How the data is kept honest
- Every row carries the official source URL and the date it was re-read.
-
spot_scope/perp_scopesay which tier and product the number applies to (for example "VIP 0 USDT-M futures"). - Rows with conflicting sources are withheld instead of averaged.
- The CSV is regenerated from the site, and the GitHub repo mirrors it.

If a number on your venue is out of date, tell me which official page shows the new one and I will re-read it.
