I think the better your understanding of the problem that needs to be solved is, the more complete your instructions for the AI can be. That understanding can in large part be gained by talking to other humans, the product owner, people who will use the feature you are building. This has always been the case.
The new / extra part now is (1) learning how to state that problem including your solution to the machine. And (2) evaluating what the machine comes up with.
