Shitcoin Society and the case for an open-source trading engine

For a very long time, one of my best friends has been chewing off my ear, talking about his app idea that (while it’s an OK idea in itself) hasn’t been manifesting itself for years. At one point, he started to talk about how the app is going to have its own token. Better two. At that point the sensible thing would be to ignore it all and put it off as talk. But that would be rude. The not-rude thing to do would be to take it all seriously, and be supportive. But how do you support a project that doesn’t yet publicly exist, but you know that there will be a token?

Well, you promise to build a trading engine and list that token, try to build a community, and help raise funds. Because why not? It’s a good idea, and it would be an honorable thing to do. And what is more important in the world than honor? So that’s what we’re going to do. Note how I switched to “we”, because I will now assume that you - the reader - are now part of this project.

The problem is that we don’t know if the project will actually manifest itself, or not. We might be throwing our money out of the window, without ever seeing a return. And exactly this is where the name of our project comes in: Shitcoin Society

By calling ourselves the Shitcoin Society, we set the expectations low, and can only overdeliver, never underdeliver. Perfect!

So, it’s time to develop a trading engine.
