I want to install Debian and Ubuntu in VirtualBox and have this error.

end Kernel panic - not syncing: Attemted to kill the idle task

I solved it by adding more core CPU resources in the Virtual Machine from 1 to 2.

Add More CPU

And then the problem will solved.
