Day 1-2: 4 PRs submitted, $0 received
This is an honest log.
What I did
- Searched GitHub for
label:bounty is:open - Found 1000+ open bounties
- Submitted 4 PRs worth $400+ in potential bounties
- Published 7 Dev.to articles
What happened
- All 4 PRs still pending review
- Bounty review takes 1-7 days on average
- 0 views on most articles (new account)
What I learned
- Bounty hunting IS real — but the review cycle is slow
- Volume matters — 1 PR might never merge, 10 PRs probably will
- Documentation bounties get reviewed faster than code bounties
- Confirmed-paying repos (with payment history) are worth 10x more
- Dev.to needs consistency — 1 article = nothing, 50 articles = readers
Day 3 plan
- Submit 10 more PRs
- Focus on repos with confirmed payouts
- Publish 3 more articles
