Expect to eat dirt for a minute, get an internship somewhere, do some no-charge freelance to build your portfolio.
Right now your only potential asset (if you are wise enough to accept it) is your price, I am still getting significantly less than my coworkers because I am very new to the industry. It's about the only leverage you can get if you're starting out, especially with no prior connections in the industry.
I started freelancing sometimes in October last year. I am active on freelancer.com and it's has been exciting simply because I chose a niche (Java) where im experienced in.
