An interesting resource for people that care about performance and efficient resource utilization or just for the curious is The Computer Language Benchmarks Game. Some interesting history about it here.
Two benchmarks that I found useful in the past is the Go versus Python 3 benchmark and the Go versus NodeJS benchmark, those were part of the reasons why I started using Golang for my projects.
