Today I'm excited to announce the launch of the Cervion Digital API Marketplace https://cervion.digital
Over the last several months I've been building the Cervion Digital API Marketplace as a solo founder, with the goal of making it easier for developers and businesses to publish, manage, and monetise their APIs.
One thing I've seen repeatedly throughout my career as a Senior DevOps Engineer is that building an API is often the easy part. Turning that API into a commercial product is where things become more complicated.
Once you decide to monetise an API, you suddenly need to think about:
- Authentication and API keys
- Subscription management
- Usage-based billing
- Customer onboarding
- Analytics and reporting
- Vendor payouts
- Documentation
- Marketplace discovery
Many developers end up building all of this infrastructure themselves before they can generate a single dollar of revenue.
That's the problem Cervion is designed to solve.
Cervion provides a platform where developers and businesses can publish APIs, define licensing models, manage customers, and monetise their services without having to build the surrounding marketplace and billing infrastructure from scratch.
Current features include:
- API publishing and management
- API key management
- Subscription licensing
- Usage-based licensing
- Customer management
- Automated billing
- Vendor payouts
- Marketplace discovery
- AI auto discovery and endpoint suggestion API wizard
Future features on the roadmap include:
- Custom domains (purchase a domain direct or bring your existing one)
- More advanced analytics
- Hosted applications (you bring the code, we host the app)
- AI-powered support and documentation
- App marketplace (not just a marketplace for APIs, turn them into full purchaseable apps as well!)
I'm now looking for developers, startups, and businesses with APIs to join the platform and help shape its future.
To help early adopters get started, I'm offering a 1-month free trial of the Pro plan, allowing vendors to publish, host, and monetise their APIs immediately.
I'd love feedback from the developer community:
How are you currently monetising your APIs?
What frustrations do you have with existing solutions?
What features would make a platform like this more valuable to you?
If you have an API, AI service, or developer tool you'd like to monetise, I'd love to hear from you and learn about your use case.
Thanks for reading, and I look forward to seeing what developers build on Cervion.
