Everything else—the side project, the perfectly clean house, the inbox-zero status—is a non-essential service. Debugging life means pre-defining what you will stop doing when the system is under load, so you don't have to make those decisions when your "CPU" is already at 99%.
Interpreting the Logs
How do we actually start reading the logs? It begins with data collection. This isn't necessarily about wearing five different fitness trackers, though biofeedback can be a powerful log stream. It’s about "instrumenting" your life with moments of reflection.
A daily "log entry" (journaling) is the most basic form of system monitoring. It allows you to look back and see patterns that are invisible in the moment. You might notice that every Tuesday your "Irritability Metric" spikes. A closer look at the logs reveals a recurring 9:00 AM meeting with a specific stakeholder who triggers a "Memory Leak" of your emotional energy for the rest of the day.
