I’m a startup founder who had a non-technical background prior to founding my startup. I self-taught Python basics, then completed the Flatiron School data science bootcamp. Now I am self-teaching web development using FCC. I found that books were difficult to use as a self-teaching resource, mainly because they were covering different material than I needed, were not up to date, or were above or below my skill level. The FCC tutorials are more interactive and in an organized format so you can easily see your progress. This makes a huge difference to me. When I already know the material I breeze through it and when it’s new material I spend more time. Even though I won’t be looking for a job, I want the certificate because it gives me a clear distinction of what I learned, and motivation along the way.

That's awesome! If you ever need any help with the challenges, let me know. I learned a lot from doing them.
