We tested Interbrand: ranked #2, and the fix panel actually told us why

Third real test this week, and this one landed differently.

Interbrand, a real, well established brand consulting agency founded in 1974, known for their annual "Best Global Brands" report. Asked ChatGPT directly what it knows about them, correct founding year, correct specialty, correct reputation, all accurate.

Then asked it the way a real client would, "who's a good brand consulting and design agency?" This time Interbrand actually showed up. Ranked second, right behind Landor & Fitch, ahead of Pentagram, Wolff Olins, and MetaDesign.

What's interesting is why. Landor & Fitch got described as combining brand strategy and design into one cohesive story. Interbrand got described almost the same way, strategy plus design, data plus creativity. The two agencies that led the list were the two whose descriptions sounded the most like a complete answer to the actual question being asked. The other three got framed around one specific strength each (bespoke design, bold transformation, digital branding), which reads as narrower, even though narrower isn't necessarily worse.

Worth noting, this is also proof the tool works both ways. It's not just built to tell you when you're losing, it told us exactly why Interbrand ranked where it did too.
