I HATE when tutorials or code examples use these terms. People who previously posted on this topic nailed at as these are pointless abstractions that only add to confusion when you are trying genuinely to learn a new programming language. Almost every example I see on Stack Overflow uses "foobar". It confused me as a new developer and still confuses me as a developer who has 3+ years in the industry. STOP USING FOOBAR AND BAZ.
