RTA's Bus-On-Demand network for Dubai now covers 20 districts, with Al Satwa, Al Quoz and Mirdif added as the latest three. The numbers behind the expansion: 527,000 riders in the first half of 2026, up 25.1 per cent year on year, with June alone accounting for 105,990 trips, the highest single month so far.
Two operational metrics moved alongside ridership. Fleet size grew to 55 buses, and the service area expanded by 54 per cent. Set against a 25.1 per cent ridership increase, that gives a rough proxy for how capacity is tracking demand, useful if you are modeling transit supply against usage.
The district list is a dataset in miniature. Four business districts (Business Bay, Downtown Dubai, DIFC, Barsha Heights), seven older Deira and Bur Dubai neighbourhoods (Al Rigga, Port Saeed, Al Karama, Al Mankhool, Oud Metha, Al Nahda, Al Qusais), six newer residential districts (Al Barsha, Jumeirah Village Circle, Dubai Silicon Oasis, Dubai Academic City, Dubai Investment Park, Al Warqaa), plus the three new additions. That is a usable feature set for anyone correlating transit access with rental pricing, something Doment's Dubai rent data by area already tracks by neighbourhood.
Bookings run through the Dubai Bus on Demand app, paid by credit card, debit card or nol. First and last mile connectivity to Metro and main bus stations is the stated design goal.
