KHDA's 25 August release reads less like a press announcement and more like a dataset drop: a count of new private education capacity opening in Dubai for 2026-27, broken into 26 institutions, 17 early childhood centres, seven schools, and two higher education campuses, adding up to 16,846 new places.
The useful part for anyone tracking this market is the categorical detail sitting under the headline number. Of the seven new schools, four run a UK curriculum and three run the International Baccalaureate. That's a field you can join against existing school directories to watch curriculum mix change year over year, rather than just watching a raw seat count grow.
A three year series, not a single snapshot
KHDA also published trailing figures, which is what makes this worth logging. Over the past three years: 21 private schools opened with enrolment up 3.1 percent, 87 early childhood centres opened, and 11 higher education institutions opened with university enrolment up 29 percent. Private education overall grew 4.6 percent a year, and teaching staff headcount rose 17.5 percent in the same period.
