GitHub, someone pushed a broken build
This was an interesting task. In general, I think and have been told by the other members that I am the most experienced with Github, especially when dealing with broken branches. So in this particular week, there was a mishap, and an especially unusable build was pushed into the main branch and no one else knew how to deal with it. And so I was assigned the task to fix it, I was unsure how to do so at first. I could not remember if I had encountered a similar incident before. Sure I had restored a messed up merge once before but it was weird given I had to revert to a previous commit and push to overwrite a large portion of commits. Normally you cant do that. So I looked online and I was able to find a solution, I had not really used this GitHub option before, but it worked. I had to check the force push option checkbox to do a hard reset of the master branch to that commit. It was another accomplishment in my GitHub skills to add to the list.
Model Creation and Loading Golem Essence
So we had decided that the reward for the Golem's destruction needed to be implemented I was given that task. I was also assigned to get assets for a water wave, fireball, and enemy arrow. It was fairly simple at first, I was able to get a crescent moon which I had act as the wave with a bit of texturing and done. I made the fireball in Maya since I didn't find any free assets that fit the game. And with the help of Gage, a got the arrow from one of the retired enemy weapons we couldn't use. I converted them all into the appropriate custom mesh files with my FBX Exporter and with the aid of Dan, they were added into the game. The Golem's Essence was a bit more work given that it involved adding it using out data-driven files. This item simply needed to increase the Golems score and fuel his power. With aid from Dan, it was added to the game, fortunately.
