StudySloth - Ai Assisted Schedule maker

SlothStudy — An AI-Powered Study Planner for Students 📚

What I Built

SlothStudy is a student productivity project designed to help students organize their weekly tasks, manage their study schedules, and improve their consistency.

Students often struggle to balance college assignments, exams, DSA practice, and personal projects. SlothStudy aims to make planning simpler by bringing these activities into one place.

Currently, I've built the initial frontend, including a dashboard with task overview cards and a weekly task schedule.

My vision is to develop it into an adaptive study planner that can generate realistic schedules and help students reorganize their workload when they fall behind.

Current status: Frontend prototype. AI-powered planning and persistent task management are planned improvements, not yet implemented.

Demo

Local development: The application currently runs locally using Vite.

Screenshots: I'll include screenshots of the dashboard and weekly task schedule.

Live demo: Not available yet.

Code

The project is built with React and Tailwind CSS.

How I Built It

I started by identifying a problem I face as a student: managing college work, DSA practice, and personal projects while trying to stay consistent.

I built the initial interface using React and Tailwind CSS, focusing on the dashboard and editable weekly schedule.

Rather than trying to generate the entire application using AI, I wanted to understand the components, styling, layout, and implementation myself. I used AI assistance to help me reason through design and development decisions.

The current version is an early prototype. My next steps are to implement task management, scheduling logic, and AI-powered recommendations.

Why Does Open Innovation Matter?

Open innovation gives developers access to shared knowledge, open-source tools, and community feedback. It makes it possible for students to learn from existing work, experiment with new ideas, and improve their projects without building everything from scratch.

For SlothStudy, open-source technologies such as React and Tailwind CSS made it possible to build the initial interface while learning the underlying technologies.

I also want to continue developing the project in the open, so that others can learn from it and potentially contribute improvements.

The Lazy Payoff

The goal of SlothStudy is to reduce the effort students spend planning their work so they can spend more time actually studying.

The intended future workflow is simple: enter tasks and deadlines, generate a study schedule, and adjust it when plans change.

The current prototype does not yet provide automated scheduling or measurable time savings. Those are goals for future development.
