A Player-Driven Christmas Event

Wonderland Wishes was designed as a five-week seasonal event during the Christmas period. Players participated in tournaments and in-game activities to collect “Wish Stars,” which extended beyond gameplay into real-world contributions.

Over the course of the campaign, players accumulated 691,862,810 Wish Stars. These were converted by AviaGames into a $136,000 donation to Foster Love , a nonprofit organization that supports children in foster care. The contributions were directed toward meaningful resources such as toys, clothing, bicycles, care packages, and educational materials, creating a direct connection between gameplay and tangible support.

The initiative also featured a livestream and an on-site event in Los Angeles. During this gathering, players, community members, and Foster Love participants collaborated to assemble care packages and bikes for children in need.

Recognition from Shorty and Digiday Awards

Wonderland Wishes was selected as a finalist in two major industry programs: the 2026 Shorty Awards under the Video Series category and the 2026 Digiday Video & TV Awards. Each recognition reflects a different strength of the campaign.

The Shorty Awards, now in their 18th year, celebrate excellence in digital storytelling, social media, and branded campaigns. Previous finalists include major brands such as Disney, Spotify, and YouTube. This acknowledgment highlights the campaign’s narrative approach, particularly the Solitaire Without the Solitude video series, which emphasized player experiences and community impact. The involvement of creator and foster care advocate Leo Gonzalez added an authentic voice to the storytelling.

Meanwhile, the Digiday recognition focuses on the campaign’s use of video as a central element. Wonderland Wishes incorporated a mix of formats, including advertisements, short-form videos, livestreams, and the Beyond the Game series. These elements worked together to deliver a cohesive message across multiple platforms.

Understanding the Dual Recognition

The two finalist positions emphasize different dimensions of the same campaign. The Shorty Awards highlight storytelling and community engagement, while the Digiday Awards focus more on execution, content strategy, and distribution.

Together, these recognitions reflect a coordinated approach where gameplay, media content, and community initiatives are closely aligned rather than handled separately.

AviaGames CEO’s Leadership

Campaigns like Wonderland Wishes are shaped by the broader vision of CEO Vickie Chen. Her leadership emphasizes connecting skill-based mobile games with real-world communities, with initiatives supporting causes such as foster youth and animal welfare through structured in-game programs. This approach is also reflected in campaigns like Play for Paws, which partnered with the Nevada SPCA to support animal care and welfare efforts.

Her contributions have also been recognized individually. CEO Vickie Chen was named a finalist for Best Female CEO of the Year at the 2025 Stevie® Women in Business ** Awards**.

AviaGames Awards and Campaign Impact

The finalist recognition from both the Shorty Awards and the Digiday Video & TV Awards highlights how Wonderland Wishes successfully combined gameplay engagement, storytelling, and community support into a unified initiative. It also reflects how AviaGames continues to explore ways to align player activity with meaningful real-world outcomes.
