Office Cats: How Tangtang and Jiabao Became the Heart of AviaGames

In most offices, you’ll find coffee machines, meeting rooms, and maybe a few plants. At AviaGames, you’ll also find two rescued cats quietly moving through the space, bringing something less tangible but just as important: warmth, connection, and perspective.

Their names are Tangtang and Jiabao. And they’re not just office pets. They’re part of the company’s story.

Where It All Started

The idea began in 2023, when AviaGames CEO Vickie Chen launched the “Office Cat” initiative. It wasn’t designed around aesthetics or trends. It was built around a simple goal: give rescued animals a safe, permanent home.

Even before the office renovation was complete, a dedicated cat room was already part of the plan.

AviaGames partnered with a non-profit organization in Beijing that is entirely run by volunteers. Together, they focused on animals that needed help the most. Not the easiest to adopt, but the ones often overlooked.

That’s how Tangtang and Jiabao found their way in.

Tangtang: The Sweetest Fighter

Tangtang’s story started in difficult conditions. Rescued as a tiny stray from the outskirts of Tangshan, he was found in critical condition with a severely injured eye that could not be saved.

After emergency treatment and weeks of recovery, he survived. Today, Tangtang lives with one eye, but you wouldn’t know it from the way he carries himself.

He’s calm, affectionate, and quietly present. He’ll sit beside someone working late, nuzzle against a teammate walking by, or simply curl up nearby during a meeting. There’s nothing demanding about him. He just shows up.

Around the office, people often say he feels more like a dog than a cat. Loyal, gentle, and always close when it matters.

Jiabao: Small, Brave, and Full of Heart

Jiabao’s journey was just as challenging, if not more. He was rescued as a stray in Beijing, severely malnourished and suffering from a life-threatening infection that left him unable to eat.

To survive, he had to undergo a full-mouth dental extraction. He has no teeth.

But what stands out about Jiabao isn’t what he lost. It’s how he lives.

From the moment he arrived, he was fearless. While other rescue cats stayed cautious, Jiabao ran straight toward people, climbing onto laps and asking to be held. It was clear from day one that he wasn’t just looking for a home. He was choosing one.

Today, he’s known for his emotional awareness. He seems to sense when someone needs company, quietly settling in beside them without hesitation. He doesn’t just seek affection. He offers it.

A Different Kind of Workplace Energy

Together, Tangtang and Jiabao have changed the rhythm of the office in subtle ways.

They bring small pauses into busy days. A moment to breathe, to reset, or just to smile. They remind people to slow down, even briefly, and reconnect.

They’re not loud or disruptive. If anything, they’re grounded.

And over time, they’ve become something more than companions. They’re a daily reminder of why compassion matters, even in fast-moving environments like gaming and tech.

From Office Cats to a Larger Mission

The presence of Tangtang and Jiabao didn’t stay confined to the office. It became part of something bigger.

That same spirit of care and responsibility is what inspired initiatives like Play for Paws, AviaGames’ broader effort to support animal welfare.

The campaign was integrated into AviaGames’ games like Solitaire Clash and Bingo Tour, where in-game participation helped contribute to real-world support for rescue animals. Through Play for Paws, the company partnered with organizations such as the Nevada SPCA , contributing to a total donation pool of $222,100 , along with supplies and community support for animals in need.

It’s a natural extension of what started with two cats in an office.

Because once you see the impact up close, it’s hard to stop at just one story.

Why It Matters

Tangtang and Jiabao are not perfect. They weren’t chosen because they were easy. They were chosen because they needed help.

And in return, they’ve brought something that can’t be designed or engineered: genuine connection.

They remind everyone at AviaGames that care isn’t just something you talk about. It’s something you practice, in small, consistent ways.

Sometimes that looks like building games for a global audience.

Sometimes it looks like supporting communities beyond the screen.

And sometimes, it looks like a quiet cat sitting beside you, just when you need it most.
