A company record is not a company assessment

A public company record can be a useful source. It is not, on its own, a complete assessment of a business.

A record answers a narrow question

It may show that an item was filed, registered, published, or available in a specific source at a specific time. That is valuable when its provenance and limits are retained.

An assessment needs a defined method

A business decision normally requires a clear question, relevant primary sources, a consistent matching method, and review of context that a single lookup cannot supply.

Keep the boundary visible

When documenting a public-source result, include the source URL, date retrieved, coverage assumptions, and any unanswered questions. This helps readers distinguish evidence from inference.
