Bonanza Golf & Gifts — Park

The reason you'd stay within spitting distance of Bonanza Golf & Gifts isn't the mini-golf course itself — it's the fact that this is the quietest corner of the Lake Buena Vista tourist corridor. The putting greens sit behind a low hedge, and by 7pm the only sound is the clack of balls against plastic windmills. If you're here for the theme parks, the proximity to the main gate means you can sleep later than anyone staying on International Drive. Compare your options among the available hotels near Bonanza Golf & Gifts before the weekend crowds book out the closest rooms.

The neighbourhood around Bonanza Golf & Gifts doesn't try to impress you. It's a flat grid of four-lane roads, palm trees that haven't grown into their canopy yet, and strip malls with neon signs that flicker on around 6pm. The golf course itself is a compact 18-hole mini-golf layout — the kind where you can hear the waterfall feature from the parking lot before you see it. Walk past the entrance and you'll find a 7-Eleven, a pizza counter, and a souvenir shop selling the same airbrushed T-shirts you'll see at every other stop in Kissimmee. This is functional Florida, the version that exists to serve people who spent the day queuing for rides and need somewhere to collapse.

By day, the sidewalks are empty — everyone's inside the parks or driving to them. By evening, the scene shifts. Families spill out of the hotels clutching plastic cups of soda, kids still wearing mouse ears, and the air smells like sunscreen and fried food from the food trucks that set up on the vacant lot across the street. The streetlights here are bright enough to read by, which is unusual for this part of Florida. You won't find a bar scene or a late-night diner worth walking to; the neighbourhood rolls up its sidewalks by 10pm, and that's precisely its appeal. It's a place to sleep, not to stay up.

The walk from your room is almost comically short. Grand Lake Resort sits on the doorstep — under 100 m from the golf course entrance, close enough that you can hear the waterfall from the pool deck. Two minutes further, The Adventure Hotel by the parks is 0.2 km away, and its location scores an 8.0 from recent guests even as its cleanliness rating drags at 4.0 — you're paying for the proximity, not the housekeeping. Magic Village Yards, Trademark Collection by Wyndham is also 0.2 km out, a 4-star option where guests praise the condo itself but rate the cleaning at 1.0 out of 10, which tells you exactly where to direct your check-in inspection.

Arrive before 3pm if you want to pick your room facing the golf course rather than the parking lot — the front desk agents at the smaller properties are more flexible with upgrades on weekday afternoons. The mini-golf course itself stays open until 11pm in summer, and playing after dark is the best move: the lights attract fewer bugs than you'd expect, and the crowds thin out completely after 9pm. If you're driving, note that the main lot at Bonanza Golf & Gifts fills up by 10am on weekends, but the hotel lots across the street are open to visitors for a small fee.
