TL;DR
Welcome back to Dev Opportunity Radar!
This is a weekly series where I share opportunities, resources, communities, and interesting finds ...
For further actions, you may consider blocking this person and/or reporting abuse
What opportunities, communities, grants, fellowships, hackathons, conferences, or resources have you come across recently that deserve more attention?
I am always looking for things to include in future editions, so feel free to share anything interesting you've found. If I feature one of your finds in a future edition, I'll always make sure to credit you.
If you discovered an opportunity through the radar, applied to something, joined a community, attended an event, or simply found something you hadn't seen before, I'd genuinely love to hear about that too. With your permission, I'd be happy to feature your update in a future 💙 Reader Updates section.
Small request: If you are sharing a link, please avoid posting raw URLs directly. DEV sometimes filters them before I get a chance to see the comment.
One little question for you all!
I've asked this in a few previous editions, and I thought I'd keep asking it in every edition so more readers get a chance to share their thoughts.
What kind of opportunities would you like to see more of in Dev Opportunity Radar? More fellowships, hackathons, AI opportunities, learning programs, communities, or something else?
If you've already replied in a previous edition, thank you so much! It really means a lot to me. If you'd like to add anything else, please do!
I started this series to help you discover opportunities you might not have come across otherwise, so I'd love to know what you're looking for. I can't promise I'll always find opportunities in every category, but I'll keep your suggestions in mind while searching for each edition.
Looking forward to hearing from you all 😀
Thanks for these, Hema! It's so valuable to read about different opportunities even if I don't we can't always meet the requirements.
I do have an opportunity to share from AdaL. I recently completed a small hackathon with them.
Anyhow, they are looking for ambassadors. Anyone interested can contact Jax Koh (jax_koh) on Discord.

I will definitely add this to the next edition 😄 And I'll make sure to credit you for sharing it. Thank you for always supporting the Radar and sharing these with me 😃
Awesome. Glad to hear it. Thanks Hema!
Great roundup, Hemapriya! 👏😄
Every Friday, this series adds more opportunities to my list and somehow makes my already overflowing developer backlog even longer. 😂
The $50K Basis Fellowship is interesting, but Harness Engineering 101 caught my attention the most. Understanding what actually happens behind AI agents is much more exciting than another "build an AI agent in 5 minutes" tutorial!
Would love to see more opportunities for indie developers, open-source maintainers, and remote builders in future editions.
Thanks for doing the research so the rest of us can focus on adding more unfinished projects to GitHub! 🤣🚀
Trust me, my own list of things to work on keeps getting longer as I find these opportunities and resources too 😄 Also, I'll definitely keep your suggestions in mind while searching 😀
The Basis Fellowship entry is the one that stopped me, because the terms invert the usual application logic. No equity, no reporting, no expiry — an application that stays alive and accepts updates when something new happens rewards the person who keeps building, not the person who performs best on deadline day. I'm a solo founder mid-build myself, and I've felt the difference between applying with a story and applying with something already running; the second one is honest in a way a pitch can't fake. The question your radar raises for me is whether a no-expiry model actually changes who applies, or whether it just collects the same ambitious people with a longer fuse. Do you see applicants treating it as a back-burner option while they chase fixed-deadline programs?
I don't have any data on how people are approaching it, Robert, but I can see someone focusing on opportunities with fixed deadlines first and coming back to this one as they make more progress on their project.
deadline-first then circle back, that order makes sense.
One addition that could make future editions even more useful is a clearer distinction between globally accessible opportunities and those that require relocation or in-person attendance.
The funding and research opportunities are exciting, but location and participation requirements can be just as decisive as eligibility.
Thank you for Edition 22. Harness Engineering 101 interested me. Its chapters match the work I do: the agent loop, guardrails, RAG, MCP, and model routing. I have not read it yet.
I plan to read it. Resources like this are what I would like to see more of. They help me even when no deadline applies. Thank you for the Radar every Friday.
Thank you, Daniel 😀 I'll definitely keep this in mind while looking for more resources for the upcoming editions!
Most applicants for the Perplexity fellowship and Barça hackathon will over-index on model architecture, completely bypassing the brutal memory bandwidth walls and sub-100ms TTFT constraints required for live search and pitch-side telemetry. If you aren't optimizing KV-cache allocation or kernel-level streaming pipelines, you're just building prototypes that choke under multi-tenant production loads. From your vantage point tracking these cohorts, are these programs actively screening for hardware-aware systems engineers, or are they still primarily rewarding offline benchmark chasing?

For future editions, I'd love more opportunities that fit around a full-time job. Your format and location columns already help; expected hours per week and whether participation needs fixed live sessions would make the shortlist even easier to use. A rolling deadline is helpful, but the weekly commitment is usually what decides whether I can apply.
Thank you, Emily! That's a good point. I'll keep this in mind and see how I can work it into future editions. I'm just trying to figure out how to fit everything in as the tables keep getting longer 😄
Harness Engineering 101 💖. just love it
Thank you so much, Abhisek 😀
Great essay thank you for sharing!
Bookmarked. Thanks for compiling this.
