Hi everyone! Just joined dev.to after spending some time lurking around anonymously. I will be sharing my thoughts on software development and backend. I’ve been working as a backend developer for about 2 years. I majored in game development, so I may occasionally write about that too. I’ve just published my first post here, appreciate hearing your thoughts on it.
Looking forward to connect with fellow developers here.
Welcome welcome welcome!
cool
hello. I am a frontend developer. What language do u use for backend?
I mainly use Go for work and still enjoy exploring it myself
Got it. Where are you from? is it difficult to learn this language?
I'm from Indonesia. I think it's relatively easy, it's known for simple syntax. If you come from a language that is designed for OOP, it would require some adaptation.
Welcome!
Glad to be in this platform with you.
welcome!!!
Welcome! What do you use for game development? I've played around with Godot and GDScript and really liked it. Are you working on any games right now?
I mainly use Unity, so it's C#. I am currently not working on games, but I just learned to make games with lua recently. Maybe Godot next, heard it can also use C#.
Nice! Yeah, Godot can use C#. Definitely check it out when you find your way back to game dev. I wish I had more time for it.
Hello everyone. I'm new to the forum. I was looking for a forum like this. Thanks to GPT, I found you. A little bit about me. I'm from Germany, I'm 48 years old, and I'm not a programmer. I'm trying to write programs with the help of Windsurf and various AIs, even though I don't know anything about coding—absolutely nothing. But it's somewhat doable, depending on the AI's coding skills. Anyway, I'm happy to be here.
wow! And what is your main job? I think u can learn programming and land first programming job in Germany cuz your country is very rich with a ot of opportunities
I work full-time in the public sector. I'm a career changer. I previously studied mechanical engineering for 1.5 semesters and dropped out in 2016 to start my current job.
Got it! I wanna move to Germany and try to find job as a programmer. Can you tell me about the situation and jobs in your country? I am not from EU countries
Hi Nikolay,
I don’t work in the software industry, so unfortunately I can’t tell you much about the market in Germany.
However, I’d recommend checking out some specialized job boards for programmers — for example:
• DEVjobs.de – devjobs.de/
• Get-in-IT – get-in-it.de/
• GermanTechJobs – germantechjobs.de/
• BerlinStartupJobs – berlinstartupjobs.com/
• Jobvector – jobvector.de/
You can also find many suitable offers on larger platforms such as:
• StepStone – stepstone.de/
• Indeed – de.indeed.com/
• LinkedIn – linkedin.com/jobs/
• Stellenanzeigen.de – stellenanzeigen.de/
Maybe you’ll find something there that fits you well.
Wow! Thank you very much
Herzlichen Wilkommen!
I’m Nikolay, a 4th-year student and a frontend developer specializing in React — though I also work as a full‑stack developer. I really enjoy building cool projects, learning new technologies, and sharing ideas with other developers.
I’m looking to make new friends who are also passionate about programming. If anyone wants to chat more about web development or tech in general, feel free to message me here — or we can talk on Telegram (t.me/Vesely_Kolyanchik) or WhatsApp 😊
Woah! super cool, do you have any majors?
Hi, I'm Ezekiel, a 4th year student myself and a ML engineer. I'd love to connect.
Hi there,
I have some pet projects you could get busy with!
Hello community! I've started working on a solution that will enable developers to build AI systems compliant with various legal frameworks (such as EU AI Act), certifications (such as ISO42001). Will be sharing various insights I gain, as well as educational content.
hi
Hello hello welcome!
Hey folks, I’m Juno.
Self-taught full-stack dev with ~30 years in the trenches, mostly in C# and JavaScript. I build distributed systems with a big focus on maintainability, clarity, fault tolerance, observability, and making hard things usable. Right now I’m especially interested in civic tech, event-driven architecture, and user experience beyond the screen.
Latest project: Nudges, a Kafka-powered SMS marketing platform built from scratch with .NET, GraphQL, Terraform, and Keycloak.
Here to share ideas, swap build stories, and maybe learn a thing or two from all of you.
Question for anyone: Would you read posts covering more of the "why" behind systems architecture and code rather than the "how?"
Hi there, I've been working as a backend dev for two years now after transitioning from journalism to software development. My key language is go (golang). I started publishing articles to share things I've been working on and someone said I should be here instead of medium :) so here I am. I am currently based in Brazil.
Hello everyone👋
I’m Majdi ZLITNI a developer from Tunisia who’s passionate about building cool, real-world software that actually helps people.
You can check out a bit more about me on my website
or connect with me on LinkedIn
I began my journey in automation engineering, but I’ve always had a deep love for software development especially .NET, React, and everything TypeScript. These days, I’m learning by building projects and apps that blend backend logic with great user experiences.
I really enjoy connecting with others whether you’re just starting out or deep into your career to share ideas, struggles, and small wins.
Hey everyone!
I'm Daniel, and I work in DevRel at Xano. My path here was weird. I started in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, discovered NoCode tools three years ago, and shipped my first mobile app in 30 days. That experience is where it started and completely changed my career trajectory.
I got obsessed with building and went from no-code to low-code (Flutter) and now I'm deep in all things GenAI, Agents, MCP, and AI-assisted development. I ended up quitting my job, freelancing for a year doing everything from code reviews to helping engineering teams adopt modern tooling, and eventually landed at Xano (one of my favorite tools hired me, which still feels surreal).
Right now I'm building SessionBridge an AI memory platform that works across Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, etc. Shipped the first version in 3 days and learning a ton about what AI memory actually needs to be. Turns out RAG isn't memory, and the hard problems are all backend problems.
I'm here to share what I'm learning about building AI products fast, backend patterns for AI agents, and most importantly helping others pivot into tech and reinvent themselves. Excited to be part of this community and sorry I don't know how to keep these short! lol
Welcome onboard.
Thanks and super excited to be here!
Greetings everyone! I just joined dev,to. I have a very wide range of interests, but I am most interested in databases and their programming. I have a webshop, where I sel, Excel programs and management books. Ma webshop domain: tfodor.hu
Hello everyone. I joined dev.io because I want to share my thoughts on backend and cloud infrastracture!
I've been working as a web developer for 4 years, and now I am a self employed.
I've just published my first post. I’d appreciate it if you could watch it!
Hi everyone , New to the community. Currently battling a bit of procrastination and trying to get my focus back . I’m aiming to get better at something meaningful and looking forward to connecting and learning from fellow devs here!
Hello! I'm excited to be here. I'm working on Macroscope - an understanding engine for your codebase. The product uses ASTs to build a graph-based model of your entire codebase and connects with tools like Linear and JIRA to synthesize, summarize, and answer what’s happening in your code. We just launched and are offering a 2wk free trial. Would love for you to try it out and give me any feedback :)
macroscope.com/
Is this Macroscope optimized for python AI model scripts published in Github, or on Huggingface? Please explain here how Macroscope would be used to evaluate a published Github repository )e.g. Deepseek) to summarize and explain the architecture of the LLM/ML model.
Welcome! Love the landing page and excited to test it. How is it different than DeepWiki?
Hi everyone! I’m Sajida, excited to join this community. I’m an instructor and educator, teaching coding to kids, teens, and adults. Hi Guys,
I am abhilash based in india have experience as mongodb and postgreSQL dba now joined one organization for short period as consultant looking for community who discuss and contribute help each other on database.
Hey everybody. Reitred Navy Desert Storm vet here, living in San Antonio. I may not have been born Texan but I go here as soon as I can.
I'm filling my time now learning Swift & SwiftUI, among other things. I have in mind a couple of iOS projects including one that I think will benefit seniors like me.
When the day comes, are there any mentors who could help me attract coders, designers, testers, just the sort of people to keep the engine rolling?
Speaking of keeping the engine rolling, I'm also hoping to preplan, as much as possible, my exit from the project, voluntarily or involuntarily, if you catch my drift and have someone(s) there to step in and guide the project forward.
I'm happy to receive any suggestions or constructive criticism coming my way. Thanks for accepting me.
Hi everyone! I'm happy to join this amazing community.

First post covers the philosophy behind it all.
Part 0: The Philosophy
Feedback welcome!
Hello Everyone! My First Post
Hello, amazing community!
My name is Dilbar. I've been looking at the world of programming with great interest for a while, and I've finally decided to take my first steps into this field.
My main goal is to learn how to "think" in code and eventually build mobile applications. Currently, I'm mastering the fundamentals of programming, and I want to document this process, with all its successes and mistakes, right here.
My purpose in joining this platform is to both share my own experiences and learn from all of you. I'm open to all kinds of advice and feedback.
Nice to meet you all! 🚀

Hello! I’m from South Korea and started my journey into development a bit later than most. I’ve been working as a frontend developer for four years now, mainly using TypeScript and React.
I hadn’t used much English before, but while working as a developer, I realized how important it is to understand and use English well. To improve quickly, I decided to join this international community.
While working as a developer, I often feel there’s still so much I don’t know. I want to keep learning and gain new insights by reading the posts shared in this community. Once my English improves, I’d love to participate more actively and contribute to the content shared on this platform.

Hii everyone, I have just joined the dev.to after watching the works of the community . The challenges and the formation of the framework of the works bring me here . I am a CS 3rd year student passionate about learning coding and different applications and searching for the right path to learn the language (java) with consideration and also about the Web development road maps to make the future in it. Currently i am learning html ,css and JavaScript but still i am not that much confident about myskills i want to improve and learn alot to improve my skills and confidence... Soo I just wanna asked for a better suggestion for me with you all community members that what should I do where to start and how bcz I got stuck in this questions 😔
I am Chukwudumaka an aspiring DevOps and Cloud Engineer passionate about automation, scalability and cloud-native solutions.
What brought me here is my desire to connect with engineers who are building, breaking and innovating in the DevOps ecosystem. I have been learning AWS, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines and architectural design and I am currently working on hands-on projects to strengthen my skills.
A fun fact about me I love turning real-life challenges into technical experiments. If something breaks, I see it as a lesson waiting to be documented.
I am really looking forward to learning from this amazing community, sharing my journey and contributing to open discussions around DevOps, cloud solutions and continuous improvement.
Hi everyone! Great to be here. I'm part of the team behind AlgoForce.Tech, an AI blog focused on making machine learning concepts clear and accessible for developers and learners.
I joined this community to connect with others passionate about AI and share practical insights. Currently diving deep into NLP and exploring ways to build helpful tutorials.
Fun fact: Our team started because we couldn't find the kind of practical, developer-focused AI content we were looking for, so we decided to create it ourselves! Looking forward to learning from you all.
Hi! I found out about this forum from some accounts from Github. I'm interested in being a Back-End programmer (Studying it with Java). Currently studying Systems Engineering with the goal to work as a Software Developer (And make projects that I want to make). I like to understand the architecture of the software, their design, how does it works. I also have some experience in Front-End but just a bit lol.
hey everyone 👋
i'm alex - been building mental health tech after spending too many years dealing with panic attacks the hard way (aka: not tracking anything, wondering why nothing worked).
turned out the problem wasn't that solutions don't exist - it's that most mental health tracking is either too clinical (hello, 47-question anxiety surveys) or too vague ("rate your mood 1-10" without any context on WHY).
so i've been building tools that use actual data patterns - sleep, exercise, stress - to predict mental health episodes 3-7 days before they hit. currently working on open source stuff because the existing options are either $200/month therapy apps or clunky spreadsheets.
tech stack is mostly Python/FastAPI backend, Next.js frontend, lots of data analysis. trying to make privacy-first mental health tools that don't require you to pour your entire life into some startup's database.
fun fact: i've launched way too many side projects and probably should have focused on one, but where's the fun in that? currently trying to be better about shipping MVPs fast and iterating based on actual user feedback instead of building in a cave for 6 months.
looking forward to learning from this community - especially around product validation, user feedback loops, and how to not over-engineer everything.
Hello, I am from Honduras. I speak Spanish, English and French working to learn my fourth undecided between Portuguese or Italian first. Bottom line I will learn both just not sure wich first. Anyway, I do a lot of developer work I've been working for almos twenty years now. Still Learning, I will say I have done work in so many languages as Java, JavaScript, PHP, Python, C++ but my strong is C#. Recently I am trying to learn NodeJs, React and MongoDB. Still those NoSQL concepts drive me nuts. I am more used to SQL and in that sense I have worked a lot on SQL-Server, but I have my share fare on Oracle and DB2. I have worked minor stuff on MySQL/MariaDB and Postrgre-SQL. Hopefully I learn a thing or two on this community I am open mind.
Hello everyone !!
I am new here, the GPT brought me here when I asked about meeting peers and like minded people.
I've been in BI for the past many years, and now transitioning into full-stack.
I enjoy very much working with data, and have built solutions based on it to some challenging problems .. at least that is always the intention :)
I am up for collabolarion, if that is something that can be started here..
Happy to be here!!
Hello Dev.to - sharing my open-source project *Quo.js *(strongly-typed atomic state container, with native async and no boilerplate).
I’ve been working for the past months on a small open-source project called Quo.js: it’s a new approach to state management in React but it's also framework-agnostic and can run on node.js.
Before I go into details, I just wanted to introduce myself and the idea behind it.
Hi everyone, after many times I come to this web, finally I make account for it. First of all I want to say thank you for many posts in this forum, soo informative and help me alot. Hello Dev People! :D
Seems Dev.to changed a lot^^. So I joined again since years, as a step of procrastination while actually rebuilding my "general" API interface to my backends.
This is a year long tasks and it even evolved to a RPC only - which also is not optimal it seems.
Everytime I use it for a new project, I think I need to make it differently^^
So here I am :D while 3 major projects are waiting to be worked on and I stubbournly think to rebuild this part is more important right now xD
Anyways hope y'all don't take life too seriously. It feels like many developers - especially highly competent ones who can focus for hours without compromises - actually struggle hard.
We need to take it easy sometimes, breath - make a pause and regroup our braincells.
Therefore reading some articles here might be a good break - far better than short-term videos.
Also we could need some communities where developers come together who share a believe in something which is desperately needed in our world today, and maybe just start working at it to make it happen. Optimally without the distraction of money flow gradients and existential fears.
Cheers!
Hello everyone! I am Ameena, a 9 year old who is intermediate in 6 languges: Python, HTML, CSS, JS, and C++! I joined Dev.to to show fof my work because I only could show off my work on github and youtube before, I hope everyone can get along with me being here on the platform! Although, I'm not sure if Dev.to would allow such kids to be on their site! If you want, you can follow me to see my projects. and if you want you can also see my first post here. so yeah, I hope I can get along with you and comminucate with other devs!
Hey Dev.to! 👋

I’m also passionate about learning frontend and improving my overall software architecture understanding.Excited to connect, learn, and grow with all of you!
Long time lurker, first time poster :)
It's been a long time since I've had to write code myself, and I'm realizing I may need to re-learn python from scratch -among so many other things- to build and test some prototypes I've been dreaming up...
So any tips re the following would be so welcomed and appreciated:
Thanks everyone!

Hi everyone! I recently discovered dev.to and I’m excited to share my thoughts, projects, and experiences in web development here. I’d consider myself a mid-level developer who’s still learning every day, and I’m always eager to grow. Looking forward to connecting with fellow developers, exchanging ideas, and learning from this amazing community!
Hi! I joined after finding this forum while looking for help with one of my classes at university. Currently taking assembly in my senior year of college and a fun fact is i have drawn my whole life basically.
Hello, humans! I am very excited to be here and talk with others! I am at the moment working on a project called BashIDE, a fully integrated IDE that works right in your terminal, using a combination of ANSI escape codes, tput, and etc., to work fully in shell language. It will allow you to import projects from other places fast, and allow you to quickly migrate IntelliJ, VSCode, and Eclipse projects to the same spot with minimal problems. It is also going to be fully headless. There won't be as much of a market for extensions, but I want to make it extensible as much as possible. It will also have several build tools for specific projects, and be integrated with a Java Language Server using LSP.
Also I'm making a game called Stellar Haven that is all about a colony manager on the moon of a planet far far away where you must keep your colonists happy and alive while the multigenerational work of terraforming goes on down below.
Hello hello! I'm Owen, loving to join this community! I actually just started joining since I do kinda wanna share some of my workings whenever I want to. hii hear is any one present who can learn me c programming
Go to Google AIStudio. Ask Google Gemini 2.5 to "create a mini curriculum and a set of prompts to teach me basic c programing, compiling and running compiled c code on a ___ Windows10___ laptop." Also, see Andrej Karpathy's llama. cp and ask Gemini to explain what it all does and how to simplify/modify it to run a miniature model on your Windows 10 laptop etc.
