I read Digital Minimalism and ended up going down the RSS route too! My feeds update once a day and I've stopped habitually checking Reddit and Instagram because of it.
Since you wrote this post, is this still your primary way of consuming content?
I'm glad to read about your trajectory which is pretty similar to mine. I'm still using RSS for almost everything (including Reddit and Youtube as well).
However, the problem with Reddit is that I cannot keep up with all the (some are really interesting) comments for specific threads. Currently I'm struggling with GNUS (some mail client for Emacs capable of fetching Reddit threads) and from time to time I do have a look there.
