No need for such a meeting at all.
Reality though is way different from any textbook or manifesto, and people have different levels of work ethic, discipline, different skills, different cultural background and language, and this is why having a meeting gives a better overview and helps some things to emerge. It is not perfect, but it is the best way we have - and we can always to our best to improve it, until it is completly unnecessary.
