Day 1259 : Success

liner notes:

  • Saturday : Got up earlier than normal because I was going to hold a workshop at a hackathon before heading to the station. The workshop went really well. A few folks came up to me afterwards to tell me they enjoyed themselves. That was cool. I hung around for a few more hours to see if anyone needed anything then headed to the station. Made it in time to get setup and go on air. Pretty full day! I was really tired afterwards. The recording of this week's show is at https://kNOwBETTERHIPHOP.com

A photograph captures an educational presentation in a tiered lecture hall, with an audience of students or professionals seated at desks equipped with laptops, mostly looking toward the front. A presenter, a dark-skinned man wearing a purple shirt, stands at a podium in the center, speaking. Behind him, a large projection screen displays a slide titled

  • Sunday : I attended a funeral for a friend that passed away recently. It was really heartwarming to see all the people that attended and spoke about how my friend impacted their lives. There was a get together afterwards and I hung out for a few hours and headed back home. It was about 2 hours each way and it was raining for some of it, so I was REALLY exhausted by the time I made it back. Before passing out, I sketched out a prototype of a model with some rough measurements.

  • Professional : Pretty good day to start the week. Responded to some community questions and caught up with messages that came through the weekend. Got on a call with someone to iron out some details. Had a meeting with my manager to plan out the week. Good news is that the quick demo application that I created using WebMCP last week went over well, so now I'll be doing more research and look into how I can incorporate WebLLM. I think these Web Technologies have a promising future and can be super useful for developers.

  • Personal : Been working on some prototypes for a perspective client. They are coming out pretty good. I got one completed and a couple of more in the works. One is a sticker sheet and I just need to take my sketches and refine them on the computer. The other is another model, that I got a quick sketch done on Sunday night. I was waiting for a part to be delivered so I could measure it and add it to the model. I think they'll be pretty happy with them. Going to try and get them finished up this week and send them an email with photos and videos and possibly send them a package with everything.

A breathtaking mountain landscape viewed along a dirt road that recedes into the distance. The foreground features grassy fields, an unpaved road, and a wooden fence on the left, leading toward dramatic, imposing mountains. The mountains have steep, rocky slopes, with snow visible on the highest peaks, all under a dynamic sky filled with white and grey clouds. The location is a valley in Glenorchy, New Zealand.

So I printed a prototype from the sketch I made for the model. The fit of the first print was great! I made 1 iteration to lock the pieces together and SUCCESS! Everything is staying together so far. It's a very basic model. I just wanted to see if the mechanism I designed would work, and it did! The only thing is that I originally ordered an assortment of sizes of the part to find the right size to design the model around. I looked up if I can order that particular size by itself. Not really finding the exact size. I did find a similar size that is more readily available. It's also in the assortment I purchased, so I'm going to see if they could work for what I want and place an order to see if they match up. I need to fill out the prototype I printed anyway to complete the product so changing the dimensions to fit the new part shouldn't be too bad. Going to work on the model design and maybe place an order for the new part size. I also want to work on the sticker sheet. I think it stopped raining and it's getting dark so I'm going to head in, eat dinner and get to work.

Have a great night!

peace piece
