Day 1268 : Wonder

liner notes:

  • Saturday : Spent some time in the workshop working on some models before heading to the station to the radio show. Pretty smooth day. The recording of this week's show is at https://kNOwBETTERHIPHOP.com

A dynamic photo captures members of the hip-hop group OutKast and their associates on stage or at an awards ceremony, likely during an acceptance or induction speech. The central figure on the left, Big Boi, wears a black shirt with a white graphic, a black cap, and a large gray and brown fur coat, raising his right hand in a peace sign. To his right, André 3000 wears a blue and white long-sleeve shirt, dark pants, black-rimmed glasses, and a red knit beanie, clapping while looking towards the audience. They are surrounded by other men, many wearing hats, and the stage features two microphones and small, dark awards trophies in the foreground. The image is framed by black bars with prominent yellow text reading

  • Sunday : Did the study sessions at https://untilit.works . I got quite a bit done. Unfortunately, I could have gotten more done if my 3D printer's filament tube didn't come out and ruin a couple of test prints. I tried taping the tube in place and it worked for a little while but not for long. I made sure to file a support ticket so I can get it up and running. Yeah, a pretty productive day.

  • Professional : Today was pretty chill. Had a meeting to start the day and caught up with a coworker. I also responded to a couple of community questions around the same topic, React Native. I've never really worked with it before and did a bunch of research to try and come up with the best replies. I also worked on my WebMCP and WebLLM demo. I learned about a new library and did some research into that because it could fit into my project. I also enrolled into my company's healthcare plan. I basically just carried over everything from last year, but I still scrutinized every portion. haha Can't play around with health.

  • Personal : Got some filament for a prototype that I want to work on in the future after this current set of projects. They are reflective and I'm thinking about some interesting things I can do. I also ordered another set of shelves on Saturday before the radio show. It will clear up some space for some other machines I've got coming in. Also, made some really good progress on my application that will allow clients to place orders that I can fulfill and ship to them. The part that is taking longer than I realized was creating the items that the clients will order. I've been working on adding photos and videos to the item listing. I just got working the ability to use AI to generate alternative text for the images and videos. Trying to get images and videos coming from external URLs for the AI to ingest it has been an issue. The documentation says that you can use external URLs for images but didn't provide any sample code. So I went to AI to see what it could come up with. It's a wonder that I still have any hair left. haha It sent me down so many different paths and rabbit holes, it's wild! Spent so much time! I'm just going to use the Fetch API to pull the file and then modify it to so that I can use the same method for the uploaded file. Can't keep messing around with the code, I need to ship this application this week so I can start making some money and work on other projects.

A serene view of the Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion), where the three-story temple covered in brilliant gold leaf is situated on the edge of a calm pond, with its reflection visible in the water. The scene is framed by a backdrop of lush trees displaying a mix of green and vibrant autumnal colors under a clear blue sky. The location is Kyoto, Japan.

My focus tonight is getting this dashboard application. I want to get the pulling in files from URLs and generate alt text working. Next will be to get the files uploaded to Firebase storage, generate the URLs and then save the item in Firestore so that I can list them on the client's site. Something that may take some time is getting Stripe integrated. I've done something similar recently, so I'm hoping that I can pull from that project. I just learned about a new backend framework and on Sunday I deployed it to Cloudflare without too much issue. Going to use it as a webhook server for Stripe. Let's see how it goes. I believe there is a new "Spy x Family" episode, so I want to watch that. I also have an eye exam tomorrow so I want to get to bed early. Going to eat dinner and get to work.

Have a great night!

peace piece
