- Saturday : Before heading to the station, I finally launched the dashboards I've been working on and emailed the perspective client can check it out and maybe order some samples or items. Made my way to the station and did the radio show. Had a great time as usual. Afterwards, I updated the clients dashboard's code so that I could make sure that everything renders like I wanted. It's a good thing, because the ALT text I used for a video was causing an issue that didn't load the video. There was an apostrophe or something that was messing everything up. Sunday : Did my study sessions at https://untilit.works. Didn't get as much as I wanted to get done. The weather was pretty dreary and I didn't have a lot of energy. I got my normal tasks done and did some work on a new project. My goal is to try and build at least the frontend of a web application entirely in Google's Antigravity coding IDE. I had it generate some mockups for an idea I had using Nano Banana. I didn't use any of those, but it did spark the idea I had for how I ultimately want the design to be. I created a sketch of what I was looking for and uploaded it to Antigravity to see if I could get a higher fidelity mockup. After a couple of attempts, I apparently hit a limit. I decided to try and generate some code from what I had and had a few issues. For example, it would say that it changed some code and created a screenshot of what it did and it would look exactly the same! haha Went back and forth on that for way too long. haha Turns out that there was an error and something got disconnected. I was so tired from fighting with Antigravity that I went to sleep. Me trying to fully embrace AI completely into my coding work flow is going to take time. haha
Professional : Had a really good day to start the week. Responded to a couple of community questions. Followed up with some folks on questions that I asked last week. Made some pretty good progress on my current project. I ran into an issue, but I got a solution that I will implement tomorrow. Also had my weekly meeting with my manager. I told them what I've been working on and ran the solution by them to get their thoughts. They liked it so I'll continue down that path. We also spoke about my year end review. They were really happy with my performance this year, so much so that they gave me a higher rating than I gave myself on my review. haha They also want to push for me to get a promotion. I don't really care about that type of stuff. As long as I like the people and the work, I'm fine, but I appreciate the gesture.
Personal : Still feeling accomplished that I got those dashboards complete and launched. I've learned a lot and will be able to reuse the code for another application I will be building soon. I'm already working on another project that I picked back up so that I can have some other folks check it out and maybe start using it in 2026.
As I mentioned, I am already working on my next project and have been using Google Gemini with Deep Research to crank out a lot of feasibility reports for the different ideas I have. I 3D printed a model to the specification it suggested for a product idea I had that involves magnets, but the magnet was not strong enough, so I'm currently going back and forth with Gemini to consider another alternative that I came across. It's thinking now, so we'll see. I'll probably get back to Antigravity to see if I can generate a high fidelity mockup before I hit the limit again. haha But first, dinner!
