liner notes:
- Saturday : Did a little coding work before heading to the station. Did the radio show and had a good time as usual. The recording of this week's show is at https://kNOwBETTERHIPHOP.com
Sunday : Sunday was a pretty productive day at https://untilit.works . In addition to the normal tasks like laundry and radio promo stuff, I was able to get the MVP of my current side project working. I used Google's Antigravity IDE to help refactor an application I've been working on. I wanted to see how well it could do with a project that was already created. It did pretty well. I was able to refactor the application so that instead of everything being on one page, I was able to so one step at a time and even shorten the number of steps needed to complete the project. It was cool to be able to ask the same type of questions about what I wanted to do with the application that I would ask Gemini in a separate app, right in the IDE. I also started working on learning more about WebXR using the XR Blocks framework that uses Android XR. Going through the docs, I found a mismatch between what the docs say and what was in the GitHub repo, so I filed an issue to ask a question and it looks like I was right. I think I'm understanding the framework a little more.
Professional : Today was super productive! I finally got this terminal command generating script working the way I wanted based on different factors that can result from a config file that I generate using another application I created. Learned a lot about single and double quotes, single and double ampersands, no hub, dev null and a bunch of stuff that had my head swimming. Good thing that I had Google Gemini to help navigate me through it. I do not think I would have gotten as much as I did in the time that I did without it because I wouldn't even know what to even look up. I was actually able to generate the code needed to successfully create and run GitHub Codespaces for 2 out of the 3 use cases that we decided on last week. The final one is like a combination of the first 2. I was also able to create a new sample application for a new feature of one of our products. Luckily, I was able to reference a couple of other projects I created and knock it out pretty quickly. I was able to test all these things with my manager to get their thoughts and if it was cool to move forward. I also responded to a couple of community questions.
Personal : Feeling pretty good about the state of this current project. I've got the 3D model locked in and did a test print that came out pretty good. I've got the web application working that will create the files I need for the print. I just need to create the starter project, refactor the code to fit and add Authentication, Storage and Payments. The good news is that I basically had those things in the last project I created using Firebase and Stripe.
Tonight, I'm going to start refactoring my MVP into my go to framework for my applications, Astro. First, I still need to figure out how I want to make the web application available for others to use. I'm leaning towards creating a subdomain of my website so that way it can be a separate application and I don't need to have it inside the website's current code. Going to have a quick think about it while I eat dinner. Also, the lenses came in for my Galaxy XR, so I want to set that up and maybe try out some XR Blocks demos.
Have a great night!
peace piece
