Professional : Pretty good day today. I sat in on a presentation this morning. I replied to some emails. I put in my time off for the holidays. I basically put in the same time as everyone else. I responded to some community questions. Rest of the day, I refactored an older sample application that I created like 3 years ago to use a newer version of a library. Wasn't too bad. Just had to change around some variable names and change how the credentials are retrieved. The good news is that I use HTML, CSS, and Vanilla JavaScript to create the sample applications, so I don't need to update and dependencies I don't have control over and they always work even years later.
Personal : Last night, I looked up all the social media accounts for the artists of the tracks I've got set up to play in future broadcasts of the radio show. I went through Bandcamp a little to check out some music to pick up this week. I worked on the MVP of my next Web application getting it ready so that I can implement it into the actual deployed application with Firebase Authentication, Firestore Database and Stripe payments. I also attached the prescription lenses to my Galaxy XR and set it up as well as played around with some of the demos from XR Blocks and the immersive view of Google Maps. Some pretty amazing stuff.
Got a few things I want to do on my list for tonight. I want to start putting together the starter tracks for this week's radio show. I want to put together the list of projects I'll be picking up on Bandcamp this week and put together the social media posts. I'm going to consult with Google Gemini to do some research for an idea I have regarding my current web application. I'm going to do some more research into what it takes to be able to send payments directly to an artist after a fan makes a purchase using Stripe. Now that I'm writing this, I don't think I'll need that to be able to just test out my current application and get feedback now. Thinking even more about it, for this alpha launch, I'll need a dashboard where people can check on the status of their orders and another admin dashboard for me to view orders and update the status. Pretty much what I did for the last applications I launched. Going to ask Google Gemini for some feedback on how I should structure the data since it's a little different from my last dashboard applications. I have an idea of what it should be, but I could be wrong because it has been a minute since I've really dived into the new capabilities of Firestore and with the last project, there was a bunch of new stuff. Going to eat dinner and get to work.
