We are excited to announce that echo3D has integrated support for Meta’s SAM 3D, a breakthrough in generative AI that brings “common sense” understanding to 3D creation. This integration streamlines the pipeline from 2D image capture to 3D asset management, allowing teams and creators to segment 2D images into 3D models within their DAM and store, optimize, and stream AI generated 3D content instantly.
3D Segmentation and Reconstruction
Meta’s Segment Anything Model (SAM) is becoming the standard for 2D identification. With the release of SAM 3D, Meta allows to bring 2D images to life, accurately reconstructing objects (through SAM 3D Objects) and humans (through SAM 3D Body) pushing the boundaries of computer vision.
Unlike traditional photogrammetry, which requires dozens of angles and perfect lighting, SAM 3D leverages vast training data to predict geometry, texture, and obscured sides of an object — effectively hallucinating the missing 3D data with remarkable accuracy.
How echo3D Supercharges SAM 3D
Meta’s SAM 3D model has the potential to enhance the work of industries that rely on visual and spatial understanding such as industrial use case, architecture, home design, architecture, oil & gas, and more.

At echo3D, we were able to leverage Meta’s SAM 3D to unlock media & entertainment use cases such as previsualization (previs), character segmentation and generation, pre-production processing, mapping out scenes and character blocking in 2D or 3D for filming, animation, and gaming.

Along with solving the 3D creation problem, managing the influx of generated 3D files can be a challenge. By integrating with echo3D, teams can now take use instantly SAM 3D outputs and make them production-ready, game-engine, web-ready.
