Hi Dev Community! π
My name is El Bachir (Elox), and Iβm based in Senegal. Iβm currently leading Santel Healthcare, an early-stage project aiming to transform healthcare access across Africa through digital innovation, community-led savings, and systemic reform.
We believe that tech can be a bridge β not just a tool β in addressing deep-rooted challenges in health systems. Santel is designed to be more than an app: itβs a movement combining technology, policy advocacy, and inclusive models of care.
π What weβre building:
A first digital prototype (web/mobile) that helps:
β’ Individuals and families organize their health expenses more transparently
β’ Community savings groups (like tontines) track and support health-related needs
β’ Pharmacies and local health actors engage in a fairer, data-driven ecosystem
Weβre currently a small team:
β’ 2 devs (Senegal-based)
β’ 1 legal/operations analyst
β’ 1 public health journalist
β’ Myself (strategy/project lead) + 2 Pharmacists

π©βπ» Who weβre looking for:
A volunteer developer (Backend, Front or fullstack) who:
β’ Has 4β6h/week to contribute remotely
β’ Is interested in social impact, open innovation, and building something from scratch
β’ Likes the idea of working across cultures and with people driven by purpose
β’ Bonus if youβre into Flutter, Nest.js Nextβ¦React, or Django β but weβre open!
π‘ Weβre also open to evolving the role into a long-term collaboration β potentially even a cofounder position β if thereβs shared vision and alignment.
βΈ»
π§ Why this matters:
In many African countries, people are one illness away from financial catastrophe. Health access is unequal, data is fragmented, and community potential is underused. We believe we can build something simple but powerful to help shift that β together.

Letβs build something meaningful β not just technical β together.
Cheers from Senegal πΈπ³
