I agree with you on the application part. For me I use macOS instead of Windows? Did you consider trying macOS? I'm interested to know your point of view as macOS is UNIX based
I used a mac for about a year or so right when they switched to OSX. But I didn't dev back then. Mainly used iTunes and iPhoto. So my experience is slim. I would be open to giving it a shot, but at this time in my life the hardware is to pricey for me. I just can't justify the purchase.
Funny side note, I work for an IT support company. Whenever someone calls in with a Mac problem they try to pass it to me. Like my last name gives me special knowledge or something...lol
