Not sure about when you need to do it as there's plenty of work arounds! Seems like jQuery is being less and less favoured by the devs I've worked with though, people heavily jumping into the React & Angular libraries to bypass this stuff as jQuery can be a bit messy to work with (from what I've heard anyway!)
At what stage do you need to abandon jQuery and start using these modern frameworks? :)
