Benchmarking Central Europe VPS Performance: Network Latency & Throughput in Warsaw Edge

Selecting the right datacenter region for Central and Eastern European (CEE) traffic is crucial when aiming for sub-20ms round-trip times. While Frankfurt and Amsterdam remain the primary European hubs, strategic edge locations like Warsaw (Poland) offer significantly lower jitter and improved routing paths for localized workloads.

In this benchmark, we evaluate network throughput, packet delivery, and raw performance metrics on NVMe-backed virtual private servers deployed at the Warsaw edge.

Network Architecture & Routing

When deploying low-latency microservices or web applications targeting Central Europe, peering quality matters more than raw bandwidth. Utilizing direct OVH infrastructure in Warsaw provides robust backbone connectivity combined with enterprise-grade Anti-DDoS protection out of the box.

Key network metrics observed during stress testing:

  • Internal Latency (CEE Region): 8ms – 18ms
  • Uplink Capacity: 1 Gbps / 500 Mbps sustained
  • Packet Loss: 0.00% under high HTTP/2 request concurrency

Live Looking Glass & Throughput Verification

Rather than relying solely on synthetic benchmarks, running real-time network throughput tests directly against the edge node gives the clearest picture of bandwidth stability.

You can inspect routing tables, ping latency, and run live throughput tests via the ErkmenHost Poland Looking Glass.

Server Specs & Benchmark Environment

Tests were conducted on standard cloud instances configured with NVMe SSD storage and dedicated CPU threads.
