Reworking the old nodes are pretty painful

Remember in the last post I said it will be quite easy to rework on the old nodes to make it set to the newer ones for the Battle Manager..

Yeah turns out this shit goes way too deep and I have to stay very offline to connect with this project to see what works and what not. In all honesty, even though I felt like it will be quite a piece of cake, it is quite a weird kind of errors because now you are un-spaghetti-fying the whole mess of blueprints with the newer variables and trying to get your own logic running in the game.

yeah i like this word un-spaghetti-fying. it is almost like it can used in a phrase meaning something to be straighten out or something

But all in all, the most pain in the ass are the actor components in the blueprints. I think the main issue is some components are being cross-referenced with some UI widget, which means they can't live without each other, so while I'm busy with X_actorcomponent, if it has a reference of Y_uiwidget, I have to go to Y_uiwidget; do some changes in there, then come back to X_actorcomponent to make it work.

While working on fixing that I'm also learning about how over-simplified yet utterly complex the Battle Manager is handling the turn-based combat system. I'm just praying to god I get this done as quickly as possible so I could start prototyping and iterating on this.

Anyways, I am quite happy how I can easily fix up the mess without relying on AI, no matter how simple the problem is.
