Dang, this took a while to write. Went through a bunch of iterations and tried different ways of getting it across that I didn't like, along with many breaks from it. Turns out I always have a lot more to say than I think I will. Sorry everyone, but there will be more.. eventually. Didn't think this topic would even take up an entire post!! I hear you on everything taking longer to write than you think it should. I'm 6 parts deep (7 counting the intro post) into a series on creating a compile-to-JS language and it takes a LOT more work to keep it going than I originally expected. Having fun, though! Writing the compiler in JavaScript of all things, because lol why not? 😂
