Great content!!
I would like your help with one thing although.
How would the blogs contribute to in this case? Would the SEO contribute towards the main website/domain which isn't hosted on Wordpress for Google ranking?

Ideally, you would make the WordPress instance private (only accessible for your Next.js back end) or use redirect/canonical links.
If your WordPress instance is public, you can use a little plugin I created to disable the front end pages in WordPress. This would prevent duplicate content issues and make sure, search engines would only index your main site :)
