Getting a PDF under 1MB when the job portal keeps rejecting it

Job portals don’t negotiate. Over 1MB and the upload fails.

When “compress PDF to 1MB” still doesn’t land under the cap, I don’t keep mashing the same button. Order that usually works:

1. Medium compression, check size
2. High compression, check readability
3. Delete blank pages / split multi-document packets
4. Compress again
5. Only then rebuild from smaller photos if it’s a scan pack
