As many of you know, I canceled my Cursor subscription last week. Here's why I finally pulled the plug:

That's a really insightful point! I totally agree that building muscle memory and problem-solving skills is crucial for new programmers. AI can be a great tool for experienced devs, but it shouldn't replace the fundamentals for beginners. Thanks for sharing your perspective! 🙏
Ugh, Cursor rewriting code without permission? 😱 That's a dealbreaker! Kiro's checkpoint rollback sounds clutch. Thanks for the review!
Right?! Seriously, code autonomy is essential. Checkpoint rollbacks are a must-have. Glad you found the review helpful! Let me know if you end up trying Kiro!
Thanks for the review! Impressive features. I was not impressed with Cursor rewriting code either so I went back to VS Code. Why did Anhtropic start banning accounts?
As for Anthropic's account bans, the rumor mill says they were cracking down on API abuse (excessive usage, scraping, etc.) to try and control costs and resource allocation. 🤔
Auto mode is unlimited. If you aren't good at using cursor, you just need practice and to study how to use it better. You are basically complaining about a calculator, when you only use the standard 16 or so buttons, and you are in elementary.
That's a fair point! Everyone has different workflows and learning curves. It sounds like you've really mastered the ins and outs of Cursor. Maybe I was expecting too much too soon. Appreciate the perspective! 🙏
Wowzer, no waitlist? Count me in.
p/s: is there any smallprint I should know?
Update: I can't login via GitHub ->

Kiro's interesting because its whole pitch is spec-driven: it makes you write the requirements/design/tasks before it generates, which is the opposite of Cursor's "just vibe and autocomplete." For beginners especially that's a real upgrade - it forces the planning step that's the difference between a coherent app and a pile of generated files that fight each other.
That spec-first instinct is exactly the principle I leaned into with Moonshift, just taken further: it's a multi-agent pipeline where the spec/plan is the contract each agent builds and verifies against, carrying a prompt all the way to a shipped SaaS on your own GitHub + Vercel (not just generated in an editor). Multi-model routing keeps a full build ~$3 flat too. First run's free, no card. Genuinely curious from your switch - did Kiro's spec-driven flow actually make you a more deliberate builder, or did you find yourself wanting to skip the spec step once the novelty wore off? That discipline-vs-speed tension is the whole ballgame with spec-first tools.
I have tried out Cursor, replit and now Kiro... I must Say Kiro is the Best AI coding Software. It understands your requirements very well and accomplish the task you need so so well. Has better features than Cursor. Any developer out there should definitely try this out...
That's awesome to hear! It's great to find an AI coding tool that really clicks with your workflow. Appreciate you sharing your positive experience with Kiro! 🙌
" ... because I always forget to git commit ..."
Stop forgetting.
Great review! AI IDEs are evolving so fast. Kiro sounds like a solid step forward. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks! It's definitely an exciting time for AI-assisted development! Hopefully Kiro is a sign of things to come. Glad you found the review helpful! 🙌
Kiro's spec mode and beginner-friendly dashboard sound awesome! Def checking it out. Thanks for the detailed comparison! 🙌
Awesome! Hope you find it as beginner-friendly as it seems.
Been burned by AI IDEs before... Kiro sounds promising. Appreciate the honest take! Gonna give it a shot.
Hope Kiro works out better for you! Let me know what you think after you've given it a try.
