Everyone builds To-Do apps. I built an OPERATING SYSTEM.
And not on a fancy PC. On my ANDROID PHONE.
Hey, I'm Karthik โ Fatafat321 Developer
I build crazy stuff. This time, I built an OS.
Meet FatafatOS 81 v1.3
What is it?
- An OS that boots in JUST 999KB RAM
- Built entirely on Android using Termux + NASM Assembly
- Press F and it paints FULL TIRANGA FLAG
- Says "Made in India - Tiranga Edition" at bottom
No Linux code. No Windows code. 100% mine.
Why 999KB?
Because why not? I wanted to see how small an OS can be and still show Tiranga.
Spoiler: IT BOOTED. IN LIMBO x86 EMULATOR. WITH 999KB RAM.
What It Does
You boot it. Black screen. You press F.
BOOM.
- Top 60 rows: SAFFRON
- Middle 60 rows: WHITE
- Bottom 60 rows: GREEN
- Bottom bar: MADE IN INDIA in color
All painted by writing directly to VRAM at 0xA000. Pure Assembly madness.
The Crazy Part
I don't have a PC. I built this on phone:
- Code in Termux
- Assemble with NASM
- Boot in Limbo x86 Emulator
If I can build an OS on a phone, what's your excuse?
Files
- boot.asm โ My 512-byte bootloader
- kernel.asm โ Kernel that paints Tiranga
- fatafatos-999kb.img โ Final 999KB image
