The worst part is that the language is just too successful, so that folks who would much rather could happily dwell on PHP, Java, Cobol or whatever their particular pick of poison actually is, end up in its ecosystem and whine about it.

At least JS didn't need eight god-damned major versions to get first-class functions right. Brendan Eich could actually pull that off in ten days.
