To introduce myself: My name is Francis Galarza, and I'm currently a sophomore at Florida International University, taking an honors course about "Humans in the Age of Bots". Technology has been a part of my life since I was born, but recently I've become more aware of the impact it now has on our day-to-day lives. The more I interact with AI, I start to think about the true capabilities and effects that machines have on our lives. Through this course, I want to further explore this topic to engage with AI and try to answer the question for myself regarding whether AI is truly beneficial for our future, or the doom of our future.
Throughout the past 2 weeks, with this course, I've started to become more interactive with AI, and the one thing I've realized is the importance of prompting is very important. ChatGPT, which I especially use, can be especially very people-pleasing in terms of the answers it provides. However, depending on how you prompt the question and the more specific details you provide, it allows for a more specialized response as a result.
I believe that AI connects very deeply with the Scientific Revolution, mainly in terms of shifting the way people think. In a similar way, AI uses algorithms to shape the view of how humans intercept information and this could be seen through the amount of knowledge we now know and the more we will learn with the introduction of AI.
