Thank you for your feedback! Yes each period could be a bit more detailed on the points you mention, but I feared that this would have made the whole series too long for people to read, so I preferred to focus on the global periodization effort itself and leave the details for followup articles.

The anti-SPA bias is expected when reading the Metamodernism section though, as I feel this movement has mainly emerged in reaction to the SPA model of the (Post)modernist periods. And since it closes the series it may leave the impression that the whole of it is directed against it, which is not (I write SPAs for a living and enjoy it overall). But the major proponents of Metamodernism are indeed very vocal against SPAs with some compelling arguments. See for example how this article from DHH resonates with mine: m.signalvnoise.com/html-over-the-w...

I gave a bit more context about IE in the previous articles of the series (the 1st and 2nd ages). BTW I'm a bit puzzled by the differences in views between the 2nd age and the other articles of the series, I was expecting people to read them all in sequence (they have respectively 285, 133, 65 and 509).

About practical examples of Metamodernism in actions, I started curating articles some while back about alternatives to SPAs and frontend frameworks, that I first saw as cool hacks and thought-provoking experiments, until I realized that they started to shape a new trend in web development with solid principles such as Progressive Enhancement and "Use the Platform", at which time I also began to challenge my own practices and convictions about how "modern" web app development should be. I plan to write a followup articles on all those metamodern practices, but in the meantime here are a few of my finds:
