Hey everyone,
I’ve been working a lot with color systems lately, and one thing I noticed is that creating a clean and balanced rainbow color palette is harder than it looks.
Most people just throw random bright colors together, but a proper rainbow palette actually needs:
Even color distribution across the spectrum
Controlled saturation (not too harsh on the eyes)
Smooth transitions between colors
Good contrast for usability
If you’re into UI/UX, graphic design, or even social media content, this can make a huge difference in how professional your work looks.
Here are a few tips I’ve learned:
Use 5–7 core colors instead of too many
Avoid extremely neon tones unless necessary
Combine rainbow palettes with neutral backgrounds
Test your palette on real designs (not just previews)
I also wanted something quick to experiment with, so I built a small free tool where you can generate and tweak palettes instantly.
It includes:
Rainbow color palette generator
Color picker
Gradient generator
Image color extractor
