“Can a solo Laravel dev build something that gets listed on Wikipedia, trusted by Google, and used by thousands — without a team or ads?”
Yes. Here’s how I did it.
🛠️ What is Free Document Maker?
Free Document Maker is a browser-based AI-powered tool platform that lets users create, convert, and edit:
- Invoices, receipts, quotes, contracts
- PDFs, images (WebP, AVIF, PNG, JPG)
- Utility files like QR codes, resumes, certificates
All tools are 100% free, signup-free, and optimized for speed + accessibility.
💡 Tech Stack: Laravel + Tailwind + Alpine
As a full-time Laravel developer, I chose:
- Laravel 12 (backend and routing)
- Tailwind CSS 3.4 (custom UI branding)
- Alpine.js (for dynamic front-end behavior)
- Vite (modern build system)
The tools are serverless-friendly, CDN-optimized, and accessible on mobile/desktop without installation.
📈 Key Win: Wikipedia Listing
As of June 2025, Free Document Maker is now live on Wikipedia.
This is not just “cool.”
It means:
- Google treats it as a real entity
- Structured data and SEO are enhanced
- Brand visibility skyrocketed
- I'm now publicly listed as the founder
🔄 Growth Strategy
I didn’t run ads.
I didn’t hire marketers.
Instead, I focused on:
- Consistent code quality
- Open-source inspired UX (no lock-in)
- Schema markup + performance (LCP, CLS)
- Publishing 2 blogs/day + GitHub SEO
- Cross-posting to Medium, DEV, X, and Facebook
🇧🇩 Built in Bangladesh — Indexed Globally
I'm Saddam Hosen (SH Saad), a Bangladeshi developer and music director.
I merged creativity + coding to build a product used worldwide.
I hope this story inspires solo developers everywhere: you don’t need funding — you need focus.
