  1. The article analyzes the transformation of the concept of the author in the face of the development of generative artificial intelligence. The traditional belief that a human mind and a specific intention stand behind every text is challenged by language models capable of imitating agency without possessing internal experiences. The author points to the fragmentation of the figure of the author into separate functions: from formulating the goal to final editing, which shifts the question of authorship from a bibliographic level to an ontological one. Invoking the dispute between Turing and Jefferson, the text poses a key question: in a writing culture, does only the functional result and effectiveness of communication matter, or does the authentic experience of the subject—which a machine cannot possess—remain an indispensable element of the text?
